The Spoon Society 2020 - Present
Established in 2020, The Spoon Society is an ongoing body of photographic work investigating the realities of living with chronic fatigue and invisible illness. Drawing on Spoon Theory—a concept that uses spoons as a metaphor for the limited energy available to people with chronic conditions—the project explores the relationship between physical limitation, identity and creative practice. Through self-portraiture and constructed imagery, the work transforms everyday experiences of exhaustion into visual narratives that question perceptions of health, productivity and disability. At its core, The Spoon Society is an exploration of resilience, vulnerability and the ways in which art can make the invisible visible.
